A statement from AMA

AMA was deeply saddened to learn of a fatal collision on January 22 involving a semi truck and one of AMA’s contracted tow trucks, which was parked at the roadside at the time of the incident. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of everyone affected by this devastating loss.

This is a deeply tragic reminder of the ongoing importance of roadside safety – a responsibility we all share. A single loss of life is one too many. The protection of Alberta drivers and roadside workers alike will continue to be a top priority for AMA.

As the investigation is ongoing, we don’t have details on what caused this collision. Until more is known, and out of respect for those involved, AMA will not comment further.
